Rachet-style shifter. Someone point me in the right direction.

The subject says it all. Does anyone know of a 1:24 / 1:25 Hot Rod rachet-style shifter from a kit or available seperate?

i beleive i know what you are talking about. i have yet to see one. you might try perrys resin. contact them, they might even be able to tool one for you

I honestly cant site a specific kit but i would think a rail drag kit might be a good place to start. i would be surprised if this type shifter werent available in plastic or resin form. ill browse some bookmarked sites of mine and see if i can find something.

Yea, looks kinda like the floor shifter you can find in an older racing car. I'll check my stashes. Good luck otherwise.

if you take a motorbike handle... and cut and sand some it might look kinda like that...

I swear i was going to suggest something similar but its to expensive and alot of work. make the box out of Epoxy. use a similar shifter from a kit.. and Heller makes 1/24 motorbike kits you could steal a brake lever from but this is a bit extreme. im certain youll find something more practical.

A laminated sheet styrene one would be simple. Three or four identical pieces forming the cross section of the main body. The middle piece(s) would have a notch cut out for the shifter. Create shifter from another piece of styrene, or a flattened wire. Add bits n' pieces to your liking.

Can't think of a kit that has one though, sorry.

The 'old' AMT Ertl Bigfoot kit, the one currently available in the stars-and-stripes motif, has a shifter than looks like that. I can check the other trucks from AMT and Revell when I get home today.
