Possible Transmission or Fuel Problem
1999 Grand AM 4.6 Liter V-6 Auto Transmission
When I go between 40-50 it seems to shudder, it goes away when I speed up or slow down, but will continue to shudder if I stay the same speed. Occasionally, when I put it in reverse it doesn’t seem to want to catch gear, but will rev. Or when it is in reverse and I put it in drive the same thing happens. Any suggestions? |

Re: Possible Transmission or Fuel Problem
It sounds like your tranny is slipping. I'm thinking a simple fluid drainage / refill and a filter change should solve the problem.

Or even look into having the whole system flushed, aamco does them here for around $150

Re: Possible Transmission or Fuel Problem
I wouldn't have it flushed if you have signifcant mileage on it. That can break crap loose that's built up into spaces in your tranny, and can cause problems when it gets loose. by the way, since when did they put a 4.6 liter in the GA's?
- I want one!
