just got 2001 ram 1500 SLT 2wd

I just bought this truck, for 9700 it has 83000 miles. Never owned a dodge before, just wondering if there is anything that I should know, Like how reliable are they. I know its all about how you treat the truck, Just would like to get some info, thanks

My 91 has 287000m on it with 3 trans rebuilds. Engine good, auto trans left someting to be desired. Hope you like yours.

Hi

I have a 2001 Ram as well . Think I need a steering column as its really loose . Also , I have had brakes for approx. 50k Miles . Need to replace them now . I have been having a wierd electrical smell and I think its in ther Cruise Control , but only happens so infrequent . My trans is also acting funny . I have 76 K miles and service it regularly . Just started using Synthetuic in the engine . seems to be fine . I have had issues with using a lighter tire on it as well as heavier shocks so be careful on this combo . Outside of maintainance , I had to replace a power steering pump , Springs , and a battery . The battery electrodes seem to have shorted and killed the battery . I had to have one installed . So agfter I get it back form the mechanic's I'll update this and let you know what happened .
