washer fluid

I have a problem with my wiper fluid.. i use it once and it emptys the entire container... i know there must be a leak somewhere past the pump.. however i can not locate any diagrams on where the wiper hoses run to..

also i can not locate a secondary wiper fluid tank for the rear wiper, as the aerostar had.. which leads me to belive that the rear fluid comes from the tank in the engine compartment?? if this is correct i do not know where these hoses run to/from... any assistance in helping me trouble shoot this problem is greatly appreciated..

Re: washer fluid

I can verify that the rear wiper shares the resevoir with the front on my 99.

Does it empty if you do not use it?

Perhaps your resevoir has a crack near the bottom.

the tank will hold the fluid untill the first time i use it.. but come to think of it even tho the tank will hold untill the first use.. it could be being held by the pressure or whatever, then when the pump is on it allows the air to release the pressure to dump the whole tank.. hopefully ill find out tomorrow when i get this thing up on some ramps and start poking around..

if the fluid comes from the front for the rear window is there somewhere that i can find a diagram or something for where it is routed to / from so i dont have to rip up the interior and everything else just to locate it..
the hayes book nor the manual has nothing on this subject.. and yahoo/google hasnt given me any clues as of yet...

Re: washer fluid

For the rear window, there is a rubber line running from the right front engine compartment (near the PCM) it then enters the fire wall into the van and travels up the "A" post, along the roof on the right side till it gets to the rear door opening. Then it turns toward the center of the roof and enter the tailgate at the top near the hi mount brake lamp and makes its way to the rear window jet.

Re: washer fluid

I've got a similar except with the front wipers. my resevoir leaks whenever i fill it but for some reason it still works for the rear wipers. none of my hoses are split as far as i can tell but what id like to know is if there are two pumps for the fluid? i think there must be but i cant find anywhere that actually says where they are. could anybody tell me where they are and how to axess them? i need to know cuz winters gonna hit ill need to use the front wipers to see
