what engines?

what engines can i put in my 88 camaro with a 2.8 that dont take lots of new parts and dont cost alot, i cant spend more then 1200. strictly. like it cant be 1300 cause i only have 1200 and my mom wont fund me in any way. so i need an engine and everything to swap for 1200 or less. should i just stick with da 2.8? cause i can buy a brand new 2.8 never been started with 0 miles for $700 and i already have all the stuff i need to put it in cause i have a 2.8 now. so is there any more powerful engine that will fit easily with no intense mods or any performance things i should do to the engine that are cheap before i put the new 2.8 in?

that's tough.

You would have to get a real sweetheart deal on a reliable, running motor, to afford it and everything else you'll need to swap in something bigger.

It's hard for me to tell you to stay with the 2.8, but at least that won't require much in spending aside from the engine itself. So I'd say stay with it, or if at all possible, hold off and save up some more.
