'87 S-15 rough acceleration.

Hi all. I just got a 1987 S-15 with a 2.5L TBI. At first when I started it up, idleing was rough and would sound like it would die but never did. I changed the EGR Valve and that fixed that problem, now it idles perfectly.

The big problem is when I drive it. When I am going through the gears, it'll sputter and backfire if I give it too much gas. When the RPMs seem to get high enough, it does alright and picks up speed but then I shift gears and it starts off doing it all over again. When I took it out today, it was stalling while in neutral. It started back up just fine but had it stall about 4 times within the last few miles to my house. I have changed the EGR (Which fixed the rough idle) Plugs and wires on it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: '87 S-15 rough acceleration.

check your timing?

Are you sure you put the wires back on in the proper order?

Did you change the cap and rotor as well?
