Autotap software

Hello all,

Wondering who out there has used the Autotap program for Windows? I have done several mods to my 98 GTP and I want to prepare to do more. I obviously have concerns about KR and want to learn more about fine tuning things to get the most out my investments.

One question I have is with the "Generic Parameters", do these include the amount of KR? I don't see that listed on their web site. Do I have to purchase the "Enhanced GM Parameters" to get that? I think it's an additiona $99 for that which does make a difference.

Any and all replies are welcome. I am a network engineer so the computer/software side of this is no problem but the car specific issues are what I am weak on.

Thanx all and keep up the great forum!!

The answer to your question as to whether you'll need the Enhanced GM Parameters is yes. There are about 5 - 6 additional parameters in the enhanced GM module which will then allow you to place an indication on the virtual display for specifically KR (knock retard). It will be displayed in degrees. The generic will tell you if you have a knock sensor or control circuit problem but thats it. The enhanced also reads out GM specific DTC error codes such as P1XXX which may be more beneficial for troubleshooting.

BTW - You don't have to be a rocket scientist to be able to use Autotap.

Hey, just trying to help out a fellow GTP owner. The list goes on and on. You know I've only used my Autotap program twice last year and that was to troubleshoot a MAF sensor/CAI problem.

Had to loan my laptop computer to my son at college but he just brought it back to me during his short summer break. You know come to think of it, I should check my KR on the GTP since I put that 3.25 pulley on. Later Jim.
