02 cavalier wiring diagram

My friends boyfriend hooked up a system and totally f*cked everything. He cut off a peice of the battery cable and hooked up some el cheapo fuse for the amp. Its a cheap wal-mart 200 watt amp. The ground wire is about 4 times bigger than the power cable.

Well I was fixing the shit for her and somehow the cd player is wired up by the amp im like holy f*ck! Well she had to goto work so i didnt have time to take the cd player out due to you have to rip the whole dash out just to get the cd player out. He took her stock cd player and i wanted to disconnect her amp, disconnect her cd player and all that great shit and re wire everything. So im wondering if you guys could hook me up with a wiring diagram for the cd player in an 02 cavalier. And i think she may have blew her amp cuz she knocked the ground wire loose or somethign because the power light on the amp isnt even on and when u hook the ground wire back up it doesnt even come on. Im gonna try to fix this hole deal for her tonite. So PLEASE hook me up with a 02 cavy wiring diagram for the cd player.

What do you mean the cd player was hooked up through the amp? That's not really possible unless you're talking about a blue wire and rca cables running from the amp to the head unit, blue wire turns the amp on and the rca cables is how the amp gets the signals from the cd player.

As for the wiring if she has a harness for the cavi (which she should when installing an aftermarket HU) they should be something like this:

Red - Acc\Ignition
Yellow - Constant\Battery
Black - Ground
Orange - Illumination

Then you'll have the sets of wires for the speakers which is something like grey, white, green, and (brown?) not sure of the last one exactly. And off of the head unit you'll have a blue wire for the amp turn on, rca cables coming from the amp, and maybe a couple extra wires depending on the headunit, some common ones are power antenna, and phone mute just cap those off.
