At first: Welcome to AF! Feel free to ask about everything you like to know about.

I´m not a Civic driver so I´m not really sure but if you´re talking about the hatchback then it should be different than our european VTi!

imo there isn't a 160 bhp civic coupe version in europe. In the netherlands there isn't one, that's what i know for sure.

I think the UK (and Ireland?) had a Civic Coupe VTi. At least it´s listed in Evo Magazine.

Evo Magazine:
Civic Coupe VTi (`98-`00)
- 4 cylinders with 1595 cc displacement
- 158bhp/ 7600rpm
- 113 Lb ft/ 7000rpm
- weigth: 1065kg
- 151Bhp/ ton
- 0-60mph: 8,0 seconds
- Max mph: 129

But I dunno if all numbers are correct.

I´ve got an US car magazine called " Turbo & High-Tech Performance" which says that the `99 USDM Civic Coupe Si has got about 172hp at the flywheel. Nearly 12hp more than Honda published. (Because some of the appeal of the Integra GS-R might be lost since it´s only factory rated at 170hp.) Other features of the US Civic Coupe Si are: special Si rims, strut tower bar, "Si Open-Type" headrests, a 8000rpm redline, a "Si" dash insignia, Integra brakes in the front, "Si" rear stabilizer bar...
It was available in Flamenco Black, Milano Red and Electron Blue Pearl.

So my guess is that the european Civic Coupe VTi (if there´s really existing one) may have got the same chassis like the USDM Civic Coupe Si but engine, brakes, interior, exterior,... are different.

I hope it helped a bit!

To answer your question, yes the 1.6VTi coupe with the B16A was sold in the UK and Ireland. I don't actually think any where sold in Ireland but you can still find them in the UK. Honda UK has quite a few for sale in the used car section.

The trim levels are probably different between the US & UK/Ireland version but they where all made in the US (not sure exactly from when to when)

Welcome to the forum Deepdog, finally a fellow norwegian!

I'm tempted to write something in Norwegian here, but that's not god manners, unless you don't know the word or something..

Where in Norway do you live? What kind of Honda do you drive? Member of any norwegian car clubs?

Welcome aboard

Make sure it is a Vti and not a 1.6 Vtec.
As far as I know, there were 3 options available to UK/Ireland:
1.6 SOHC non-vtec, 1.6 SOHC Vtec, and 1.6 DOHC Vtec. I have never seen a 1.6 DOHC Vtec (coupe) in Ireland, in fact it's quite hard to get your hands on a SOHC Vtec!
