Radio has poor reception
My radio has the worst reception, I checked all wires and connections, and am wondering if maybe the antennae itself is bad. I was told its located in the roof area. Has anyone changed it?? Thanks

Re: Radio has poor reception
I would say the antenna is the problem with your vehicle. I would replace it with an external antenna
that is mounted on the side of the fender or even in the roof for that matter. You should get much better reception and it would be a lot easier to install than to fix the one in the roof. |

Re: Radio has poor reception
Isn't the antenna embedded in the glass of the windshield towards the top?

Re: Radio has poor reception
I had a Lumina van that had a fender antenna and I had absolutely no problems with the radio reception. The body panels on it were plastic on that as well.

Re: Radio has poor reception
CDRU, No, the glass has metal flakes in it to block some of the heat from entering the huge expanse of glass area. The antenna is mounted along the roof above the headliner..Hence the reason im balking at replacing it..
