Trailer wiring harness

My 1998 Astro trailer wiring has a 8 wire harness can I use the blue auxiliary circuit to power my boat trailer winch which has wiring for 30 amps?

Re: Trailer wiring harness

My thoughts are that 30 amps is a lot, and the trailer wiring from the van wouldn't be able to supply that.
I think you'd be better off running a separate supply to something that heavy-duty. I believe 10 guage wire is good to 30 amps.

Re: Trailer wiring harness

Maybe recheck that 10 guage for 30 amps, but i think that's right. And you'll need a good ground too.
