Re: Car squeaks at bumps
How many miles?
Your struts could be bad, or you could have bad / dried out bushings on your suspension. |

Re: Car squeaks at bumps
Are the struts expensive. Could it be the shocks on the car?

Struts are around $50 each for the part, shocks are around $20 each for the part. I would check the bushings first, they do tend to dry out after a while.

Re: Car squeaks at bumps
Where are the bushings located. Do you add some kind of oil to the bushings is that what your talking about? When you say dry out is this fixable? or How do i know or check to see if there dryed out? Please explain!!

The bushings on the front are located on the control arm where it attaches to the body of the car, and in the rear the bushings are at the bottom of the shocks, where the bolts go through. To check the front bushings, you have to get under the car, see if the control arm has dropped down from the bushing, if it has its pretty obvious. To check the back, go under the car, gently poke at the bushing with a small screwdriver, it should be somewhat soft. They do not need oil, if they are dried out or cracked, they must be replaced.
