gas disappearing!

ok i know this sounds weird but i only get around 150 miles per tank(only 3/4 dont let my car get under 1/4 a tank). i recently got my injector seals replaced and it got to this. its better than it was before. but i can smell the fumes alittle after i drive the car for a while. what do you guys think this can be?

oh ya... i changed the fuel filter. the thing was black inside. the engine has 210,000 miles on it.

Re: gas disappearing!

no its always been bad im jut trying to find out what it could be.

edit* i know its not the fuel filter because i made sure it was tight and there are no leaks around it, ive checked plenty of times. and when i saw my old injector seal, i laughed. one of the broke in two in my hand.

well you could try lighting a lighter along everywhere the fuel goes and as soon as you blow up, then you know thats where the problem was.

sorry im tired im going to bed my only guess was taht you fucked something up replacing the fuel filter

Re: gas disappearing!

I dunno man cheak the filter, haha just messing. Check all of the fuel lines thuroughly. Check to see if maybe you are running too rich, like your computer is using too much fuel(more than needed).

well the pump should only pump how much its being told to so it sounds more like tuning problem than the pump going crazy.
