So the other night i'm driving home, not in any big hurry and decide not to push a yellow light. As luck would have it, I end up first in a lane, with a full view of the other three directions of traffic. I guess some shinanigins had been going on during the other red light, because two "tricked out" import cars ( I think one was a civic and the other some sort of hundai) sounded like they were bouncing off their rev limiters. Now, these cars must have been fast, because they were loud (as well as obnoxious... they sounded like ass...), had some pretty impressive rear spoilers (rivaling that of the superbird), and had at least 200hp worth of stickers and glowy stuff. Also, they were obviously still in the project stage, otherwise their body kits might have matched the paint on the car and bumpers.
Anyway, they are sitting there waiting for the turn lane to finish, revving the crap out of their cars... amazingly there were no police around as they would have been ALL over those two... hmmmm, that might have been why the outcome was what it was.
Turn light goes yellow...

The cars inch foreward.. tires close to the crosswalk lines.

Turn light goes off... GREEN LIGHT COMES ON!!!

The beautiful ROARING of hundreds of horsepower... I mean, this exhaust note was NICE (and you could hear the engine over the exhaust from where I was). The two ricers take off, but that roaring... was from a 5.7L V8. The C6 Corvette that was in the furthest lane over must have gotten tired of their... show of automotive dominance, cause he lit up the tires and lanuched that thing.

Corvette made it across the intersection, and past the other crosswalk BEFORE the two ricers made it completely past the crosswalk on their side. It was the best ownage EVER. I havent' seen better. Anywhere. Seriously.

So, all I can really say, is YAY FOR CORVETTES even if a civic has 200hp worth of sticers, it's still no match

Haha yeah thats the typical "race" car in my part of PA. By the way the C6 Vette is actually a full 6.0 liter, he was definately not taking any shit. Cool story.

Well my guess is that the ricers didn't have the neon glow lights on or that corvette would have gotten whooped. haha

6.1L V8 Hemi - 425hp 425lb.-ft. torque. Damn I want one of those! but i think the c6 looks better.

and I don't recognize a charger if it has 4 doors...they mighaswell call it a Dodge Hemi cause all their doing is looking for excuses to put hemis in vehicles...plus its auto, and will always be auto...so booooo

Unless it's launching on an oil slick, a C6 Corvette will kill a 6.1L Charger any day of the week, those Chargers are HEAVY! Still wouldn't mind one though

yea the ls2 in the new vette will walk 90% of the cars that you see on the road daily, and the charger will get beat by the ls1's that you see on the road daily, dodge craeted a real loser with a 4 door sports car

I don't know about that guys. The SRT-8 300 is running low 13's and trapping at 108-109 and the Charger is about 400lbs lighter, you do the math. The SRT-8 Charger should be a 12 sec car, that is if they don't kill the lowend with torque management, we'll have to see. I watched a SRT-8 300 beat up on an '04 GTO (LS1) on Sunday night. SRT owner said he ran 13.2@109 bone stock with 500 miles on the car. They might be heavy, but they're moving pretty good. Oh, and there was an auto C6 at the track last night running 13.1/13.2@107/108, sounds like a perfect match up for either SRT-8

well the 04 is a ls1 producing 345hp, the 05 is the ls2 making 400hp, the vette in 05 runs the 1/4 in 12.3, and the 06 z06 will be running the 1/4 in 11.5 stock with 500 hp. so no matter what dodge does they still are gonna be eating gm's dust

and 02 ls1 camaros and vettes run 13.5, so that c6 driver needs to figure out how to actualy drive his car

Can somone show me one of these new C6 Vettes running a low 12 bone stock? I mean, I keep hearing it, but I've never actually seen proof of it other than "Well so and so magazine says it can happen..."
