awd conversions/rwd conversions

so i am wanting to make my car an awd. i know that the GTIr uses an sr20 motor and it is an awd car. Is it possible to use that setup to put into a sentra? Has it been done before? And if not is it possible to make the sentra a rwd car? Has this been done before? Are any of these conversions probable? Let me know I am a curious person.

Yeah, I really don't think it would work. It MIGHT, but you'd be setting yourself up for a HUGE expensive project. You'd be top dawg if you did it tho!

Re: awd conversions/rwd conversions

aren't the chasis for the 91 and the 94 sentra the same. Cause correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't there a limted 91 sentra that was all wheel drive. If there was isnt the engines the same 91 and the 94 the same or close enough to that same that the tranny would swap
?

Re: awd conversions/rwd conversions

Nope, no awd 91-94 Sentra. I believe there was an AWD onein the mid-late 80's. But it was an ugly-ass hatchback. And no, the SE-R's SR20s are MUCH different than any of the other sentra engines.
