Tires and Rim Packages

I have a 2001 Grand AM SE and am looking to upgrade the tires and rims. How do I find out up to what size rim's will fit and what tires to buy? I'm looking to get 17" or 18" but not sure. Don't want them to big. I only have 15" stock rims now

Be careful with how tall and wide your tires are, you don't want them to hit the body or suspension. Look at www.tirerack.com they also list different size tires for most cars that will keep your speedometer accurate.
