735i E32 M50 Water leaking from fan clutch

Hiya Folks,

I'm new to this board and have searched for this problem but can't find anything like it. I've got an overheating problem where when the car starts overheating, water starts leaking from where the fan connects to the cooling pump.

I also have a small leak in a very small hose that is on top of the engine, the hose is apprx 3 inches long and half inch wide.

The overflow tank has never worked and has always been clogged. There is no hose from the overflow to the thermostat housing.

Also, If anyone knows what type of thermostat I should use (81 degree 85 degree, etc..) I would greatlu appreciate this info.

I think I might have to replace the water pump but hoping it's just a thermostat.

Thanks
Christian Choi

Welle ather your water pump is shot which is most likely the case the coolants eather comming from the wheel hole or the water pump gaskets shot. Eather way you should replace the water pump and thermostat at the same time.
