Oil leaking onto headers???
I just dropped in a brand new 350 from chevy into my 74....I put about 100 miles on it, and its already leaking bad...I cant tell if its coming from the heads or not, but its dripping on the headers and smokeing bad. The starter is also soaked in oil it looks like.

Oil is not going to leak from your actual heads.. Make sure your valve cover gaskets are not leaking.. that is probably the problem..

Also check the oil pressure sending unit

Even if your valve cover gaskets are in good condition if the lip on the valve cover is tweeked or is not smooth and flat then that could cause leaks.

its deff not the valve covers, cause i would be able to see it leak...i cant see the leak. I dont know how it could be the head gasket because the headers are a little above where the heads meet the block. I cleaned off the headers where the oil has dripped on to it, so when i started it up again i could see where is dripping from, but i cant see nothing.

Re: Oil leaking onto headers???
it may not drip were you can see because its not leaking just sitting there running, clean it good and drive for about 10min and then check and i would almost put money on the fact that its the valve covers or gaskets
