300D to 300DT

hey all! I've a 1982 300D euro model non turbo. I need to convert it to accept a turbo. has this been by anyone? seems like mostly a bolt on job. Does the case have to be tapped for the oil lines? If so, how complicated a procedure is it? Would the engine have to be pulled? ect..

Any info on this job would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
Greg

Re: 300D to 300DT

BAD IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!! You will melt the engine without many internal modifications, one being nozzles that squirt oil onto the underside of the pistons for cooling. The cheapest and easiest solution is to buy 617 turbo and swap it in. There has been many write-ups on this on mercedesshop.com diesel forum.
