Re: Easiest way to strip paint?

use alchol the one that is used as fuel wich is stronguer...it has the same effect as the brake fluid and is very easier to use and clean any mess that eventually happens...

brake fluid it like .98 cents. you probably have that in your couch. rubbing alcohol might work. a search on this forum would work good as well

Get ye to the grocerystore or drugstore/chemist and get a bottle of isopropyl alcohol, the strongest you can find. 99% is great, 91% will work fine. Should be less than $1USD. Just as effective as brake fluid, cheaper, and safer.

Re: Easiest way to strip paint?

there have been lots of threads on this. but since im posting anyway. lol. i always use brake fluid. REALLY cheap at dollar general. you can get 91% alcohol at wal mart. i find the brake fluid to be much quicker tho. as far as stuff around the house, you might see if you have some castrol super clean

sorry didnt mean to be a dick but this is asked every other week. Wal-mart has it for .98 cents. Drugstore or gas station it might cost up to $2. depends where you go. and you need to soak it for a day or two so its nice to have a plastic container to keep it in. i use a small tuperware container.

Soaking for a few hours in 409 works too..

If you're not willing to spend a couple bucks, you should probably just wait till you can.

I searched this forum and found the answer this morning. Tried it tonight and works!!

Go to a auto shop and look for something called "Castrol Super Clean". Pull that into a container and let your model soak for an hour or 2. You should be able to brush the paint off afterward with a toothbrush.

Couldn't believe how easy it was and thanks whoever posted this great info here before.

2 things

1) "CSC" eats skins, use gloves.
2) "CSC" can be reuse.

Re: Easiest way to strip paint?

Yeah, Castrol Super Clean worked great for me to get rid of a bad paint job but now it is not allowed to be sold in my state.
