eclipse lcd

I got an eclipse 7001 lcd from a friend, and im having a few problems..

1.) Where to locate the "brain"...the thing is a pain in the ass and I was wondering where have you guys that have a similar unit mounted yours?
I have a small 2 door cavalier so space is limited...

2.) I cant seem to get the illumination to work (orange wire on normal HUs, right?), none of the buttons light up or anything but everything else works fine. It has a remote which doesnt work either. I noticed when installing it when I "accidently" hit the constant against metal it oviously blows the fuse, and when this happens I get the red ESN light to come on the buttons to barely light up for a split second, same thing when I first replace the fuse.

Lastly,

3.) When I hook my PS2 up to the video, all I get is sound, no video. Could the video rca be shot? Or am I doing something wrong?

Any and all help greatly appreciated.
