Hard Shift w/ Exhaust Problems..

I was on my way home late last night and After I had gone over a set of RR tracks I heard the truck kind of bog down.. the sound sounded to be like the truck was boggin.. when I slowed down and took off again the truck revved high and then shifted hard.. when I got home i got underneath and noticed one of my pipes on my straight duals (cat-backs) had disconnected (weld broke) from the pipe that comes from one of the catalytics...

Would the pipe being disconnected have anything to do with the truck revving high and shifting hard?

It was running great before this happened..

It is a 1999 Silverado, 5.3L

Thanks for your help guys.. Ive been following the board for a while and Ive finally decided to register.. all help is appreciated

Re: Hard Shift w/ Exhaust Problems..

I really would doubt it. Unless the pipe broke a sensor wire of shift linkage or something like that...

make sure it didnt melt or break any wires under there. if it did it could have blown a fuse or burnt something up.
