I've got an '88 4Runner to sell in the Kansas City area. Asking $2,950. Many photos are posted at http://tinyurl.com/eyxre.
I've had it since 1996 (88k miles) and it's been my daily driver the whole time. I just decided it was time to upgrade so I bought a new truck. The 4Runner is in pretty good condition for a seventeen year old. It's totally stock as far as I can remember, and is the SR5 edition which comes with the stronger V6 engine, power windows/locks/mirrors/antenna, cruise, upgraded interior, rugged cloth upholstery, semi-sporty bucket seats, etc. Drives & runs fairly well and the interior is in pretty good shape. Here are some other highlights: - 5-speed manual tranny - 3.0L V6 SOHC 12V FI - Light blue w/gray interior - All maintenance records since '96 - Hood Bug Deflector - A/C works well - Rear Heater Outlets with Separate Fan - Regular Oil Changes - BFG A/T T/A's - Around 187k (see note below) Other Misc Features: - 2-Door - 7-Way Adjustable Driver’s Seat - 4 Wheel Drive - Removable Moonroof - Rear defrost - Power Tailgate Window - Roll Bar - Removable Hard Top - Alloy Wheels - Tilt Wheel - PS/PB - Rear Tie-Down Hooks - Seats five - Vanity Mirror - Map Lights - Folding Rear Seats NOTE: Around 3-4 years after I bought it, I was shopping for a car for my wife and I ran a CarFax report on it. Based on the report, it looks like the odometer was rolled back around 17k before I bought it. I haven't noticed any related issues though. Other issues: Left rear quarter panel has rust. Right rear is just starting to show signs of rust. 4WD hasn't been used in a long time, so I'm not sure what shape it's in. Shutters around 70 MPH. Leaks oil - I just check & fill it regularly. There are a few other minor defects you'd expect in a vehicle this age like a non-working cassette deck, but that's the bigger stuff. Last edited by blaronn; 08-02-2005 at 03:18 PM. Reason: It's been sold |

Cutting the price in half - was $2,950, now $1,500 - for two reasons:
1) Need to get it out of the driveway 2) Just took it in for a radiator leak and discovered that it has a head gasket problem. Apparently the head gasket is leaking to the point where combustion gases are entering the cooling system and increasing the cooling system pressure, which caused it to blow out the radiator. Bottom line - it needs a new head gasket. The good news though is that it now has a brand new radiator! |
