Good morning everyone!!
Okay, you good people have gotten me through the check engine light mess, (a bad Ignition Module), and the ABS Light Debaucle, (bad contacts at the wheel connectors), so now I need your help with the Mysterious Hesitation. This is a 1992 Grand AM with the 2.3 liter Quad Four engine. Sometimes, when you accelerate from a stop, the engine just dies. It doesn't stall, it just acts like it has no power to move the car for about 5 seconds. No engine lights come on while this is happeneing. I have applied fuel injector cleaner, but the problem is still there. It doesn't act like a fuel filter probelm, as the car will pull a long hill under acceleration without any problem. Again, this is a very intermittent problem. Hope you can help me. Thanks, GilT |

Re: Mysterious Hesitation
Some possible culprits could be
bad TPS bad / misfiring spark plugs bad / misfiring coil packs clogged catalytic converter possibly something TCC related If none of those items are the culprit, then my next step would be to have a shop do a full injector / fuel system flush for you - if you have very dirty / clogged injectors, the off-the-shelf cleaner may not have been enough to clean them. A professional cleaning (60 to 100ish $) might do the trick. |
