Re: ls1

no i don't believe so, I may be wrong though. I think the ls1 350 is totally different than the new 4.8.

Re: ls1

If you're gonna go thru all that trouble, why not just get a better engine?

Re: ls1

They heads are going to drop your compression ratio a little bit though. The cam will give you a pretty good notice in power. If I were you id just get the cam and some springs and call it a day. The loss in compression might take away what you are about to gain...UNLESS you decide to turbo, supercharge, or n2o feed it.

Re: ls1

I don't know the specifics of the LS1 cam, but be sure to consider your gearing and converter when picking a cam. A bigger cam shifts usable power to higher RPM's, and the effect is more noticeable with smaller motors. Has anybody ever built a fast-sounding dog by putting a big cam into a car with highway gears?

Re: ls1

Go to LS1TRUCK forum and they have done a lot of conversions and modifications. Allen Nelson is the moderator and has a lot of experiance with those type of issues.

Good Luck

Re: ls1

Yeah its all good trust me, I wouldnt say it is if I wasnt sure!!! The cam produces its power from 1500-6000RPM where as the stock truck cam is in the idle to 5500RPM range. The stock convertor can be stalled to at least 2000 RPM!! People do the ZO6 swap alot in the trucks and dont have any issues, they lose a little bit down low but gain a substantial amount up top!!
