2001 Rodeo Problem
Hey guys, I have an issue that i hope someone can help me with. I have a 2001 Rodeo, that just today started acting up on me.
It will start fine, and idle/rev fine as long as I am in neutral or have the clutch in (5 speed). However, if I am in gear, the vehicle will buck and sputter and the tach will go crazy bouncing up and down. This continues no matter how much gas I give it, until it finally stalls. I really have no clue what this could be. It has been really wet where I live lately, and have been driving through puddles frequently, perhaps I got something wet? Any ideas would be great appreciated. |

Mebbe a vacuum problem?
Try a little soapy water squirted on any vacuum lines.... Hopefully a dried & cracked line would be the extent of it. If not, lookup threads on EGR cleaning? Good Luck

Re: 2001 Rodeo Problem
Sounds like a bad intake manifold gasket, see the FAQ's for more info.

Re: 2001 Rodeo Problem
I agree, my rodeo did the same thing when the intake manifold gaskets went.
