how much hp does a catalytic converter give you?

also if i purchase a cat back system do i still need to purchase a new catalytic converter for more hp or does the cat back come with a new one?any suggestions on good catalytic converters for a 00 civic with soon to be tanabe racing medallion cat back?

No catalytics dont come w/ catback exhausts. They give like 1hp. Don't get one for like 3 or 4 more years when it gets nice and cruddy.

Just got me a testpipe and that is definatly fun. it replaces your cat with a stright pipe.
sounds great on my stock exaust and did make some diffrence in horsepower.

is that like the b-pipe. i heard something about a b-pipe but i dont know exactly what it is? any info.

SCC just did a their Project EG and its showed no gain at all. They installed b16/i/e and did dyno after each upgrade. cat showed no power gains, not worth it in my opinion.

Uhhhhh, since when is a catalytic converter supposed to ADD horsepower? Last time I checked the concensous (sp?) was they "remove" horsepower... and if you have emissions in your state, good luck passing without a cat...
