wont stay running

I was driving for about 2 hours yesterday, and when I shut my car off for about 10 min, it would start but not stay running. It finaly started and i got it home. Well today its doing the same thing. I took out the air filter to see if it wasnt getting any air, well that didnt fix it. Does anyone have any ideas. My car is a 97 GTP. I'm thinking my fuel pump or my fues is bad. Thank you.....

Does it start and run for 5 or so seconds then quit?
Do you hear the fuel pump when you turn the key into the on position?
Do you hear the fuel pump running when the car is running?

If you answer yes to the first two and no to the third one, then it is probably the fuel pump resistor.

I hear it when I start, but Ive never really listened for it when Im driving, I will have to try. I took it to the dealer they had it for 2 days and did a dionastic test, he said the all the readings are normal. Thanks for the info.
