camaro RS 1993 idling high

My car is idling at 2000 to 3000 rpm. It does it anytime of the day. It used to idle around 1000 to 1500. Even during shifting gears the rpm will increase if I just push on the clutch to shift without getting on the gas. I can play the clutch and break at the same time to get to idle around 1000 rpm during times I am sitting still. Does anyone have any ideas.

Thanks

For awhile....hmmm. I only use it to go back and forth to work. That drive usually takes about 20-30 min and even after that amount of time it still will idle high. I havent driven it any futher than that since its been idling high. It doesnt happen all the time, but more times than not. For instance, this morning 7:30am I got in to go to work and it was idling high. This afternoon 6pm i was going back to work and it was idling around 1500rpm which is about right. It does seem more noticeable when the car is cold.

Thanks for response

I second the IAC cvalve... but also I think you're a little confused... 93, 94, and 95 they didn't make RS's
