I have a 1991 Chevy Blazer 4.3L V6 with 40000miles on it. I recently replaced sparkplugs, wires, dist. cap, rotor, fuel filter, PCV valve, and air filter. The car starts strong and runs fine but once stoped it idles rough and stalls!
Any Ideas what could cause this? |

Re: Rough Idle/Stall
Mine does this too. Sometimes it will run smoother than others, and it's only actually stalled fully once, but typically at idle after a few moments it will start to chug and choke and almost stall. I'm thinking it might be the fuel pump, since I've done everything that you have and still have the same problem... and sometimes when I ask it to accelerate it hesitates. :/

Re: Re: Re: Rough Idle/Stall
it is a good idea to check the vacuum lines for cracks or holes but another thing that could cause
this problem is a bad temp sensor for the computer (not the guage) locate it and unplug it while the engine is running and see if there is any change if you dont here a (drastic) change in the idle repalce it. try this when the engine is cold then try it hot. |

Re: Rough Idle/Stall
Also time your engine with a timing light with the timing wire unattached.
Clean your EGR valve.
