Post 1996 plymouth voyager cruise control

The cruise control does not work, the lights on the stirring wheel does not turn on when the crise control switch os pressed. The dealer says the clock spring is ok if the airbag light turns on then goes off after engine starts. I can not find a fuse labeled cruise nor a relay. Any ideas?

Someone please help us!

Ted

Unhappy

Ted,

Had a guy look at it but was not at the dealer. He spent four hours to tell me he thinks it is the control module which was about $500. I did not fix it. let me know if you get yours fixed.

Could be a brake pedal switch. If you step on the brake it shuts your cruise off. It's not uncommon for the switch to fail(either one set of contacts or the switch itself) your brake lights also pass through this switch. If your brake lights are not working also, switch is pretty much definate. However, the cruise contacts can be faulty yet the brake contacts still good. Haynes manual should show you the pinout for the contacts. If you don't feel confident in checking the contacts, replace the switch anyway. It costs about 10-20 $$ from the dealer. Beats starting with a couple hundred dollar module!!!! The switch is located near the pivot point of the brake pedal under the dash. Get your head under there with a flash light and you'll see it.

I do not have a haynes manual. The brake lights work so I disconnected the brake switch terminal from the switch and then tried the cruz control but still no luck. I am not sure if the switch is suppose to be normally closed and pem when the peddle is pushed for the cruz. Disconnecting and trying what I did would still not prove anything if it is suppose to be normally closed.
