What can this be??????

I have a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero GX and for about a week now, when i start her up, my engine will turn over no problem there, but my dashboard lights (that flash quickly when started) will not turn on (show), my headlights (automatically and even when i try to turn them on manually) wont come on, my gas gauge wont go to where it supposed to go (stays on empty), my odometer will not turn on, and my ac wont work and my "Service Vehicle Soon" light will come on. But it doesnt happen all the time. There are times where it does happen and there are time it doesnt happen and also there are times where this happen but my "SVS" light wont come on. What can this be? is it something like a simple fuse has blown, or is a wireshort.... any help is greatly appreciated.. any advice... Thankyou soo much in advance!!

Tess

Re: What can this be??????

With the SVS light coming on sometimes, I would most likely say a sensor or a fuse. Check BOTH sides of the dash for blown fuses and then check under the hood under the box that says "FUSE RELAY".

First of all I would like to thankyou both for your replies. I really appreciate it. Now Indy, In the engine fuse compartment, its one of those bigger fuses that look like lil grey/ black boxes, would u happen to know which number the fuse is?and also can i get this replacement fuse at any autopart store or do i need to go to a dealership specifically?. Please respond. Again tysvm for your replies. to both of you.

Re: What can this be??????

it is one one mini fuses. blue and under your hood it controls your brakes tails the works even if it looks good go ahead and change it. you can find a referance in your owners manual to all the different fuses and what they are for.
