Best production year

Hi ! So, I have decided to purchase last production year of Jimmy and now I wonder how many years GMC can guarantee parts supplies for this vehicle.
I'm going to be towing RV about 2000lb and I wonder if I will need any special modifications beside class 3 hitch.

By law they must keep parts available for at least 10 years. That said it will probably be longer.

For towing I would reccomend adding a rancho 5000 steering stabilizing kit if you don't have the tow package. Also either throw in a vette servo or a b&m electronic shift improver (they don't say it on the site but they work fine with the later ECM's). And of course the class III hitch (you will find the tap wires for the trailer on the back of the driver's side frame rail taped up)
