New Si

Hey everyone. Well I went to the local dealer to try to test drive one of the new Si's, unfortunately they didnt have any :o Well anyway the guy was telling me about the car...What ever happend to "There's no replacement for Displacement?" This car is a 2.0L dohc i-vtec and only pushes 160hp?! The 99-00's were 1.6L dohc vtec and pushed 160 Whats up w/ the new Si?...and by the way the Si uses the K20 motor right?

Fuck that if we wanna save gas we'll buy a dx I just dont know why now they have their 2.0L pushing only 160 hp, when they had 160hp from their 1.6. Why make the engine bigger? Why go from a 1.6 to a 2.0 if the 1.6 was just fine and putting out the same amt of hp

They're turning into every other car maker and using the same engine in more than one car. RSX base/Civic Si

It's a cheap and boring idea. The car looks awkward, there's no center console, and its heavier than the old coupes. Beats the hell out of me why anyone would buy it over a Sentra SE-R or Protege 5

They have always done that this is nothing new. Even though it's the base motor for the RSX and has the same HP as the B16A the K20 has alot more torque and in the long run a much stronger motor.
But however, I would agree with everybody else I do not like the new SI body style the concept version of the insight a few years ago looked better.

so the new si has the same engine as the base RSX?

so if a si will win a base rsx if they race?

nobody likes the looks for the new si........the car has been out for a while now, and i haven't seen one on the street yet!

color

That was the other thing i didn't like the choice of colors sucked and what's up with no blue that's almost like a trade mark for the si.

And then both of you guys w/ you sewing maching powered cars get passed by a moped w/ a 5hp Engine and he goes on to put 5 car lengths on you. Racing an EX vs a DX is like a 10 speed bike vs a golden retriever.

i guess the 'intended' customers are too pussy to rev and shift properly...the higher torque helps them make it to their curling game on time

Reasons to Buy a new Si over a Protege or Sentra:

1. I've driven an SE-R... nothing impressive at all...
2. SE-R's are old news... there is nothing innovative about that car.
3. Protege's are phat looking, but slower than a terd on wheels.
4. The K20 is already being placed in many drag cars and has been dyno'd very high... it has a lot of potential.
5. I'm probably the only one in the world, but I like the looks of the New Si.. it's totally different. Granted, it's a little underpowered for the displacement, but then again, look at the SE-R and the Protege!
