DynoMax Super Turbo's, what a difference!!!

I got up bright and early this morning to go let the boys rectify my exhaust problem. Just a week ago I had them do the initial install of dual Aero-Turbine mufflers and some nice SS oval tips. I didn't like the sound, it was too loud and too high pitched of a sound for me. When I pulled up onto the rack and got out, they said "that's loud?" And being the smart azz I am, I said "well, most exhausts are relatively quiet at low rpm right? You should hear it under slight acceleration, it's louder than a redhead in the bed." They liked that one. So anyway, I was talking to the shop mgr who insisted that MagnaFlow is identical to the Aero-Turbine's, which shot his credibility cause I have heard MagnaFlows before, I had one on my Accord, and it sounded nothing like the crap the Aero-Turbine's were putting out. So then I ask about the DynoMax Super Turbo and they kinda look at each other, shruggin' their shoulders and said "well, it MIGHT be a little bit quieter, but you have duals so it's gonna be a little louder than if you had just one."

I had em slap em on for me and man, night and day difference!!! The sound is much more mellow, it's got a beautiful tone to it, pretty quiet, yet noticeable at the same time. When I started it up it had a nice rumble, but at idle it's almost unnoticeable. Under slight acceleration it can be heard, but it's still quiet. At freeway speed w/the windows up and music off, I had to really listen for it to try to hear it. It gives off a very mellow exhuast note, yet makes the V6 sound a little more intimidating. Now i'm a happy camper!!

DynoMax Super Turbo + V6 = music to your ears!!!

so then yours must be kinda loud, but a deep, throaty loudness. Does it bother you on road trips?

I bet it sounds good, the tone it gives off is a thing of beauty. Mine is unnoticeable on the freeway also, which is a welcomed break from the obnoxious Aero Turbines I had before these, although only for a week

Re: DynoMax Super Turbo's, what a difference!!!

I took physics, and I know what resonance is. Now, I am just wondering where the resonator is and what it does. Is it supposed to be like a dampner?

Oh, and I was looking on www.partsandaccessories.com and it shows that this particular exhaust is only compatible with the 3.8L series. Now, I don't know if Dynomax makes another exhaust system, I just thought that was kind of awkward. Hope you mechanic knows what he's doing.

Congrats on taking physics, can I shake your hand? Yes, to the resonator question.

Who said I got the DynoMax exhaust system?

Okay, I'm not trying to be a smart ass just trying to filter out some information.

That's better!

The DMST is a muffler, they do make DMST catbacks also. I just went with dual mufflers for a couple reasons....#1 cause with the stock muffler being molded to accept dual exhaust, it looked like it was missing something with just the single exhaust the LS comes with. #2, I don't plan on getting real serious with the go-fast mods on this thing so the extra cost for the catback system would be a waste. The looks, tone and performance have all been improved enough to satisfy my needs, now I just gotta come up on a decent CAI and get my reprogrammed chip and im done with the performance stuff. Then comes the bling bling

No, two mufflers, single tip on each. One on the left side, one on the right side.
