Ceilica A/C

So its summer time and its hot as hell outside and my Celica's Air Conditioning doesn't work. I call the dealer and ask him hey, what can i do... he says it could be $300-$500 to check it and recharge it. Then i ask him what kind of refrigerant it takes so i can recharge it myself. He tells me there is a sticker in the car somewhere that would tell me. A lot of help he was. I looked for an hour and found no sticker!

Does anyone know what kind of refrigerant a 1990 Celica GT uses?

I have the same problem 90GTkid... My a/c kicked the bucket. When i went to the dealer and asked, he said i should look aftermarket at retrofit kits. I found some for around $50 US. I don't know if they work or not as i haven't had time to order one, but, if it works, it'll save you a lot of money They also include recharge as well as retrofit stuff. Here's a couple

I believe there was more stuff on A/C and things like that on that webpage, so may be worth a look

make sure that you only need a recharge before you get a retrofit kit, because other wise you might just waste the 50-60bucks to buy it to learn you need to go to the dealer anyways

I went and bought a kit. The place i went too helped me out a lot. He came out and checked out my A/C. It still had some 12a so he said it was just low. I bought the kit, recharged it and i got A/C working. I still have enough gas to do it another time atleast. The kit i got also came with a leak sealer as well.
