Question Convert from Power to Crank

In 1997 I had aftermarket power windows installed in my 96 sunfire, actually my wife idea. Recently a part inside the door broke preventing me from using the window. I would like to convert back to a crank window. Can anyone direct me as to what parts I need, and where I can get them? Is this simple to do?

Re: Convert from Power to Crank

It sounds as if you are not sure what parts you need or whats been changed.
I would suggest finding a parts car with crank windows, either in a wrecking yard or a private sale in the classifieds.
If you can, grab the doors from the parts car. You then can take your time in transferring all the parts to your own doors. If this is not practical, just strip the parts car doors of the crank mechanism ('window regulators') and all other required parts.
Take a drill and some drill bits. Often the parts are rivited into place and the rivits need to be drilled out.
