wiring headunit

alright so i have a new HU i ordered and installing it was going good until i came to wiring it up. i dont know which wires from the stock wiring are the ACC, ground, etc connectors and i cannot, for the life of me, find anywhere that will tell me online. i saw one on club3g once, but all of a sudden i cant get on that site. funny how that works.

also, the mitah adapter has 2 pairs of RCA connectors. one pair is marked with a red band across the wire, and the other pair is black(and then obviously the red and white RCA connectors at the end for L and R) but which pair is front and which is rear?

It doesn't make a difference. As for the wiring, good luck. I found out after plenty of fuses.

red/white stripe = Constant Power

Green/White Stripe = Illumination

White/Black Stripe = Ignition

Caps used were 47uF at 10V DC

Caps were sodered from the main from speakers to the positive outputs of the tweaters. This also filters the center channel. The caps were from radioshack the a little pack. These were added to filter the base and distortion going to the tweeter and the center channel, while still having clear and loud sound. Depending on what is being done with the sound system, the caps can vary. I would suggest a higher voltage cap, but have not seen an issue with mine for over a year (since I did this)

Front Speakers

Mains

White/red stripe = Right front +
orange/red stripe = right front -
white/blue stripe = Left front +
orange/blue stripe = Left Front -

Tweater and Center
brown/red stripe = Right front +
black/red stripe = Right front -
Brown/blue stripe = Left front +
Black/blue stripe = Left fron -

Rear Speakers

Grey/blue stripe = Left Rear +
Yellow/Blue stripe = Left Rear -

Grey/red stripe = Right Rear +
Yellow/red stripe = Right Rear -

These are the colors of the speaker wires that would normally be going to the AMP under the passenger seat. Instead, they are connected straight to my deck. The clarity is tons better, for the Mitah adapter and my deck were overheating my AMP.

Hope this helps everyone.

And for those who says this was a bad idea, don't post in this thread. I'm a technician by profession and it my job to find cheap and reliable ways to make things better. This does work WITH NO PROBLEMS, and NO BLOWN CENTER CHANNEL or DECK..... Brigable deck or not (I checked).

:::Update::: This is a post I made when I was a Mod at the .org. If you are worried about blowing your deck because of the low ohms, just get a couple 4ohm resistors (decient wattage) .

Re: wiring headunit

yeah actually it does make a difference- did it wrong the first time, so fading to the front would actually fade to the rear, switching them fixed it.

and eclipse thanks, that was the one i was talking about. but the site was down last night and into this morning. it turns out that wasnt what i needed though. for future reference, the white with black is the ACC 12v, and ORANGE WITH BLACK is the constant 12v. crutchfield tech is great.
