Engine Ticking??
I have a 93 Toyota Camry V-6 3.0 It has 121,000 miles on it. Recently I have been hearing the engine ticking a little bit. It only does it when the car is warmed up. The engine oil I always change at 3000 miles. It doesn't use any oil. I checked the level the other day and it was full. So I know that it's not due from insufficient oil. The car runs great, full power great gas mileage. I just didn't know how concerned I should be. It sounds like the valvetrain. Like lifters, but it's a Ohc so it has cam followers instead. When it idles it ticks a little when I rev it to about 2000 rpm's it's barely noticable. Like I said only when It's warm.
Thanks, Shane |

Re: Engine Ticking??
I agree. Turn up the music. You may have a little extra valve lash, it is harmless. If it gets excessive it will take a long time and then it is usually a simple repair.
