Rear Door Assembly

Well automatic back door doesn't work and now the handle rusted off I guess because .. Yup.. LOL... it turned right off.. I'm not one for interior, I usually always break something. Is there something I could do to get the door open? some sort of direction to the automatic door lock would be greatly appreciated. Thx

You can use a flat screwdriver and carefully insert it in the key hole or whatever is left of it..and turn it clockwise and at the same time pull on the door.

It's not a big job to fix your problem..jsut go to the local pontiac dealer and tell him you need a new cylinder and pullknob..costs about 50 bucks for the both and he should key it for you for the same price...

Carefully remove the rear door cover ..and expose the lock mechanism..snap a digital pic of it before you start..just in cse....you will need soemone to hold the lock cylinder in place from the outside while you slip the snap lock on it from the inside ..it's pretty straight forward.
