1988 Chevy Cavalier ....NEED HELP!!!

I have a 1988 Cheverolet Cavalier RS 2dr hard top. I had been driving it for probobly about half an hour with no problems. I came up to a red light and sat there. It started idling real rough and the rpms just dropped and the car died. I put it in park and started it up just fine but as soon as I put it in Drive and gave it some gas the same thing heppend, it would just shake realy rough and die. Any suggestions on whats wrong? I would really appreciate the help.

It's not a "switch"

It's the Torque Converter Lockup Solenoid. Very different from a "switch."

I don't need a guy going around looking for a switch to something when all he's gonna find is about a 2"x2" boxy thing with 2 wires attached to it behind his valve-body cover.

Yes, wording is important, douchebag.

Previous posts deleted because I committed the cardinal sin of calling it a "switch" instead of a "solenoid." Yes, I know, 2 different things, but I messed up.
