Lightbulb Trailblazer Angel Eyes Projector Lights

hi! just joined the forum. i currently own a 2005 trailblazer ext in charcoal fully loaded except for the navigation system. personally, i have no complaints with the car. truly a piece of work this truck. love every second i drive it.

on another note, i was wondering about these aftermarket projector lights. i've seen conversions of them to go from stock to angel eyes. was wondering if they can be installed just as easily as OEM light fixtures and still work fine without any splicing or mods. here's a link to what i'm looking at.

http://www.mytightride.com/chtr20prhahe.html

thanks fellas!

I looked into these too... From what I know is that they are stock replacements... 100% plug and play for all normal DOT lighting.

The only catch is that you need to find a way to power the LED ring.

They leave that up to you to control the power source... this way you can have them on with the parking lights, or the fog lights.

OK, I've read that website four times and have no idea what they are talking about. What is the "halo" and what does it do (and why would I want one)? Blulytes mentions something about LEDs - you'd think the folks trying to sell them might explain it?

The center section contains the halo portion. The halo does not accept a bulb. Only the halo lights up. WTF????

.

exactly... that is the reason why I did not get them.

The halo is just like the angel eyes on the 5 series BMW's. It is LED driven. The area in the halo, even though it looks like a projector lens... does not accept a bulb. Crazy...

here's a link of the lights on an actual trailblazer. so what you all are saying is that the middle "light" (where the halo is) does not accept a bulb, but the first and third section of the head unit are for the regular headlights and the high beams?

Well these lights are great especially the Black ones. I got them from Dubai, UAE for US$ 220. BUT mine both halo bubs blew off within weeks. And the most ****** thing is that you cannot replace these Halo shit.
Now I ride it witout the HALO, but again they look great. And you could also install these LED tailights, which are awesome......

Thats right! The middle section, which looks like a projector lens, is nothing, nada. You would think that they would put another light or something in there... The "outer & inner" sections are the standard high and low beams.

well then, forget me getting those projector lights. i'll just replace my current bulbs with hyper white xenon bulbs. anyone know what hyperwhite bulbs i need to use for the foglights? i already have my new white light bulbs in for my low and high beams. but i hate the "yellowness" of the foglights. and here in NJ, we get pulled over for anything other than white, red, and amber.

Re: Re: Trailblazer Angel Eyes Projector Lights

Well, as I said earlier, there is a bulb in the halo projetor ring, you may hook it up with your parkling lamps or your fog lights... Yes, it is just like a standard light but gives a great projector look.

here is the link http://www.cardomain.com/ride/259707/07

see last picture for the halo light

And regarding Fog light bulb you need to replace with 880 type bulb. You can find in ebay starting from 10$

Alittle lost in translation.

Ok... as for road illumination... there are only 2 bulbs, your standard high and low beams.
For decorative purposes only... is the center LED "HALO" ring. This serves not purpose other than an asthetical light ring. It does not light the road up. If you doubt me... buy them or email one of the other guys who has them.

Yes, I meant the same thing. I was trying to say that halo ring has a bulb ( decoration use only) as some one mentioned earlier that it is without the bulb. There are only low & high high beams for road use.

Just to be clear -- I don't believe it has a "bulb," as in, "incandescent bulb." What it has are LEDs (light-emitting diodes) arranged in a circle. So it lights up (decorative light only), but does not illuminate the roadway. For that, you must rely on the high and low beam *bulbs*.

Either way, if it's not functional, I'll pass...

Yes, It does had one small blue LED which gives the halo ring look. I shall try to post a pic I have from my non working Projector lights. These are useless as you cannot replace the bulb if blow off. Yes, rely on high & low beams only........
