could you explain this a little more? how out of the muffler and not the tail pipe?

How does it run?

It is common for internal condensation to drip out the tailpipe or other openings in the exaust system when first starting a car. as an area gets heated, it vaporizes the water, then when it hits the coolness of the muffler or other pipes, it condenses back to water.

typically the water is sooty with carbon.

ok the way that it is dripping out of the muffler is that i think that there may be a whole in it and its pretty rusty down towards the mufflers end so if that tells you more....how does its run, well it starts fine...i can recall one day it started hard and spewed out alot of the watery stuff from the muffler... and if i step on it to rev it up it hesitates a little bit but other than that it purrs like a kitten

Re: Leaking Fluid From Muffler

make sure the fluid is not coolant...the dirt is carbon which is normal. the muffler obviously has at least one hole in it which means it will need to be replaced or repaired. the hole will grow quite rapidly and get loud...real loud. as the replacement is expensive, i've had varing degrees of success with muffler bandages. it's a quick fix and wont last more than 6 months to a year, but it costs less than $10. if you have more time than money it's worth a shot.

Re: Leaking Fluid From Muffler

What ever you do don't plug the hole in your muffler. It is susposed to be in their as a drain for the water coming out. Without the hole the water will fill up.

You will see at least 2 drain holes in your muffler one on each side of your muffler right below the pipe that comes in.

The water is a normal by-product of your cat. When the cat converts the harmful gasses coming out of your engine it converts the gases into harmless gasses and water.

Re: Leaking Fluid From Muffler

As far as your e-brake ,that's normal .If it;s working it will go so far and stp ,when you let off the brake should be set ,if you push it again and it will release.
