I am planning on taking off my a/c because it doesn't work. The only problem is I dont know how Im supposed to take off the belt and how much smaller I'll have to get the new one. Will it make any difference performance wise?

Here are some belt numbers that will run the alternator without the ac compressor. Gates K050375, Goodyear 4050375, Dayco 5050375.
Loosen the mounting bolts and adjusting screw on the compressor and you can snake the belt off. It runs the alternator also. The power steering and alternator must come off to get the compressor out. |

Re: uninstalling a/c compressor & need help
Could I repair my old compressor? The man at the a/c shop said its a fixable leak but wouldn't recomend it. I hardly ever use it so would it matter? Thanks for your help.

I don't know man that's up to you. If you live in the north don't worry. However you may use the ac one day, also if you have at least a few hundreds to get it repair do it.
