Thumbs down GSR speakers.....

Is it just me or do the base speakers that come with a 2000 gsr suck? I mean seriously suck... i think my computer speakers are better. I turn the volume up slightly and the base cracks and i cant hear anything on the highway. Just wondering if there's something wrong or if i should start thinking about replacing them.

Re: GSR speakers.....

They are stock speakers, of course they suck. It shouldn't be too bad that you can't hear it on the highway, so that might be a problem there (or you're jacking up the volume way too loud). You should consider replacing them.

Re: GSR speakers.....

I agree with Civicspoon. The stock speakers are somewhat underpowered, but they should be able to crank on the highway decently well... unless the windows are down, then it gets a bit noisy.

Re: GSR speakers.....

I actually think that the speakers in my GSR are pretty good....especially for stock! I have Boston Acoustic....what do you guys have (the same i'm sure)?

I was thinking of putting a system in my GSR like i did in my Civic, but i really didn't think that they were that bad.

Re: GSR speakers.....

i just put in my whole system(pioneer 4 ways in back, kenwood components in front, 2 infinity 12 inch subs, panasonic head unit), it was a huge pain in the ass, but it was well worth it. if you put in a 50 dollar pair of speakers youre gonna see a huge difference

Re: GSR speakers.....

just order from crutchfield.com, they'll send you anything you need. the back speakers are easy,,but the front components are a bit more tricky

Re: GSR speakers.....

I would reccomend getting polk db series speakers. The 6.5 components are awesome up front, specially if you have a 4chan amp.

Re: GSR speakers.....

the polks are definitely good for the price. +1 for pepsi. the speakers shouldnt sound like you're describing them. they're definitely blown if they crack when the slightest bass hits. i blew the stock tweeters but other than that the rest of them have stayed strong.
