New Books

im going on vacation here on fathers day. my g/f an I are driving from Spokane, Wa to Portland, Or to spend it with my brother and his familey. after a couple of days BBQ'ing and drinking booze were heading to Beverly Beach on the Oregan coast to kick some sand. we'll be gone 6 days. its going to be around a 1200 mile road trip so i decided to buy a couple books to read on the way down there sence my g/f is parinoid and wont let anyone drive but her. anyway i bought the following from Amazon for 109.somthin shipped

How to Tune and Modify Engine Managements Systems
by Jeff Hartman

Forced Induction Performance Tuning A Practical Guide to Supercharging and Turbocharging
by A. Graham Bell

Four-Stroke Performance Tuning
by A. Graham Bell

Maximum Boost: Designing, Testing, and Installing Turbocharger Systems (Engineering and Performance)
by Corky Bell

i've heard mixed reviews about Corky Bell's Maximum boost, but thought i'd buy it anyway. i looked preaty damn hard, there are engine, tuning books for hondas, acura, ford focus, rx-7, why the hell hasnt somone got off their ass and made one for our cars!! anyway. i was excited, thought i'd see who has one of these books. Later

I own this book, and I must say that it helped a TON when I had just started to learn about turbos and turbo systems. However, it's tough for me to pick it up now and actually read something I don't already know or have read about. I think the book is great for people who are just being introduced to turbos, but anyone with intermediate/advanced knowledge of turbos will probably find the book to be absolutely no help at all.

Re: New Books

I just Finished reading these books. I spent the better portion of that trip on Corky Bells Maximum Boost. That's a wonderfull writen Turbo/Intercooler refrence book. I also picked up a book by the name of "Auto Math" that I hadn't mentioned. Auto Math is fantastic. I suggest everyone intrested in understanging the math behind performance & suspention to pick up this book.

By "FAR" the best book out of all of them is "How to Tune and Modify Engine Managements Systems by Jeff Hartman"! It is absolutly incrediable! I suggest everyone buy that book. It is Extreamly Advanced! Its goes over in detail just about everything behind EMS tuning! All the other books don't hold a candle to this book. Buy it!

Unless your only intrested in turbos/intercooler. then its Corky Bell.
