How do you remove the moling around the windshield wiper swithch in a 72 chevelle malibu? If you can't remove it, can I buy the piece anywhere?

Re: Wiper Swith Molding

Are you talking about molding around the switch in the dash?

That part is molded right in the dash. It's not a part you can buy. It sounds like the guy selling it must have cut it out so he could make a hole for something else. I wonder where he mounted the wiper switch after that.

Re: Wiper Swith Molding

Is the silver part around the switch in the dash? If it is I guess it's possible that the inner part of the covering of the switch is removable. Last time I took my dash apart I just took off the knob on the switch and the rest stayed on the dash. I guess I never tried to take the face plate off that switch. Anyway..good luck with the new dash.

Re: Wiper Swith Molding

Hey, I just went out to the garage and checked my dash. Turns out you can remove the switch and the faceplate comes out with the switch. Then I started thinking about a dash I bought a few months back. I got it for the clock and a few other spare parts.I started looking through some of the parts I pulled from the dash and found the wiper switch. It looks in good condition. If you need it just let me know and I can send it out to you. No charge. I don't need it so it may as well get put to use with someone who may need it. Let me know.

PS. I'm not sure if the Malibu and the SS used the same switch.
