Re: You can thank me later....

I just went and read it--like slowing down as you drive past an accidet! There's some serious ignorance, rudeness, and immaturity on that board. I can't believe one guy lives in the same area and does not know who Larry Ellison is, what Oracle is, or where it's located. And the slanging matches...legendary. It is funny how they referred to the guy who was driving it though. Their obsession with JDM is also quite something!

Yeah, all the comments about the rims were interesting...because to them the F1 needs to be lowered and riced out

I think a lot of them just don't realize that wheel design is nearly 15 years old now. I have an old account there and was thinking about adding my .02¢ to the discussion to help educate them, but I'm not sure if I will have the time.

I think that a lot of them don't realize that wheels don't have to be 22" in diameter, chromed, and have spinners on them to look good. I will say that the 5 spoke OZ wheels on the LM and GTRs look a bit better than the stock wheels, but again, many of the people there are probably ricers. Their general perspective is of huge non-functioning wings, Transformer-like body kits that are left unpainted, and ugly clear taillights, 5" dual exhausts on a 4 cyl engine, and countless stickers.

According to the replies in that post, the Mclaren is still currently being built by BMW, has a top speed of 220 mph, has a Bose audio system, cheap "stocker" rims, needs 22" wheels, and aftermarket Lamborghini doors. Amazing.

FYI, there are more pictures on the third page.

I believe the image in his avatar is a shot of a diecast actually. In fact I may have the original.
