Odd smelling exhast

Ever since i got my car i noticed a weird smell outta the exhast. Cant explain it. Kinda sour. What could it be.

Wow, i was just outside and was looking at my converter and when i hit it, it rattles on the inside. Whenever i shift from D to R or vice versa, it rattles. Or if i am turning around and i hit the steering limit, it does it too(WTF?). Then i googled it online and this post was on the first page. JW do aftermarket converters make the sound different?
