Oh god no...No no no!

Just got back from driving around. Not beating up on it or anything. So i go to make a quick left into Autozone, push the clutch in and the rpm's drop off to almost nothing. Car almost stalled. Then right after that, my clutch felt spongy. NNNOOOOOOOOO! This damn motor only has a little over 30,000 miles on it! Maybe it was just a fluke, who knows. Didn't give me a bit of trouble after that. But you all know what these two signs are. Crankwalk Mitsu said they had put all upgrade parts in the motor the first time it CW'd and i should never get it again. The claimed Mitsu had fixed the problem and when they ordered everything, they were the revised parts. I really hope my crank isn't floppin around in there. It isn't time for it to go for a walk damnit!

Re: Oh god no...No no no!

Was it under warranty? Did it come with a warranty?

Re: Oh god no...No no no!

it HAD a warranty of 12,000miles/12months.....and i just took it out again to show my friend what it was doing and it started doing it again....so we started going back to my house and my temp gauge was spiked at well over 250F! as soon as i pulled into my neighborhood i turned the ignition to off and coasted into the garage, my motor was smoking! popped the hood and a big cloud of smoke filled the bay. fresh coolant on the ground. WTF! i checked the thermostat. it must be opening cause the upper radiator hose was hot, but when i tried turning the heat on, it was cold. what could this be? water pump? head gasket? please help asap! thanks guys.

Re: Oh god no...No no no!

Sounds like a headgasket to me. That is what happened when I blew mine. Was it white?? That is my bet.

Re: Oh god no...No no no!

found the problem...it blew a hose off the back of the thermostat...so i put it back on and filled up the fluid. seems to be running at normal operating temp now good thing we noticed the temp right away and didn't drive too long with a temp that high. as for the rpm drop on left turns....ahhh i'm hoping it's not CW.

Re: Oh god no...No no no!

Crankwalk is just an excuse to build your 6 bolt and put in a 60 trim

But seriously, don't worry about it until it happens, because there is nothing you can do to stop it!

Re: Oh god no...No no no!

I was going to suggest low coolant level from a leak. When the level drops a little bit, the heat is the first thing to go.

I would pry the pulley away from the framerail (toward the motor) and have a friend hit the clutch. It is perfectly normal to be able to see it move, but it should be a small amount. .010 inches is around the service limit. If its like a 16th or an 8th of an inch or something, might as well start planning to fix it.

Re: Oh god no...No no no!

a little update....i raised the idle just a tad because it was a little low and the vac was like 14....now the vac is around 16 at idle, idle is approx 800. (would having the EGR solenoid nipple broke cause a low vac like this?). anyway i took her for a spin. temp was just under 210, and it didn't drop rpms once on any left/right turn. hopefully it was just a fluke, but i'm gonna try what you said kevin. hopefully it doesn't move out of that range.
